Facilities are adapted to Council Directive 1999/74/EC laying down minimum standards for the protection of laying hens, with 84 cages for 10 laying hens each, which allows the possibility of running trials with up to 8 treatments and 10 replicates per treatment simultaneously.

Possibilities of trials: Performance trials including egg quality, digestibility trials of 1-2 months of duration, trials for EU-Registration purposes (168 days).

Typical parameters recorded are laying index, feed consumption, feed conversion, egg mass, faecal and ileal sampling (digestibility or other purposes), cracked and dirty eggs, egg quality traits (egg shell thickness, egg force, yolk colour by spectrophotometry, albumen height), immune parameters, blood sampling, etc.
