European R&D

European R&D Projects and Consortia

We build, write and manage EU-funded R&D projects for agri-food companies, and run the experimental work packages in our own research centre.

  • 850R&D projects managed successfully
  • +150clients with individual and collaborative projects
  • 99%of projects audited successfully, both financially and technically

European programmes we work with

Each programme has its own rules, partners and evaluation criteria. We tell you which one fits your project and what it takes to win it.

Horizon Europe

The EU's main research and innovation programme. Cluster 6 covers food, bioeconomy, natural resources, agriculture and the environment.

  • Collaborative consortia of at least three entities from three countries.
  • Research and Innovation Actions (RIA) and Innovation Actions (IA).
  • Missions and European partnerships, such as animal health and welfare or sustainable food systems.

LIFE Programme

EU funding for the environment and climate action: demonstration, pilot and best-practice projects.

  • Lower emissions and circular economy in livestock and food production.
  • Standard Action Projects led by companies or consortia.
  • Measurable environmental impact and replication.

Eureka · Eurostars

International R&D projects led by innovative SMEs, with partners from Eureka member countries.

  • Eurostars: market-oriented projects led by an R&D-performing SME.
  • Network projects and clusters on industrial priorities.
  • Each partner is funded by its own national funding body.

EIC Accelerator

European Innovation Council support for start-ups and SMEs with breakthrough innovations ready to scale up.

  • Grant for the innovation activities.
  • Optional equity investment through the EIC Fund.
  • Short proposal, full proposal and interview with a jury.

How we work

From the first idea to the final report of the project.

  1. 1

    Programme and call

We match your idea with the right programme and call, and define the objectives, technology readiness level, work plan and budget.

  2. 2

    Consortium building

We find partners across Europe (companies, universities and research centres) through our network, and IMASDE can join as the partner in charge of animal trials and statistics.

  3. 3

    Proposal writing

We write the excellence, impact and implementation sections, the work packages and the budget, in line with each programme's evaluation criteria.

  4. 4

    Submission and grant preparation

We submit the proposal through the Funding & Tenders Portal and support you until the grant agreement is signed.

  5. 5

    Project management

Coordination support, reporting, deliverables, financial statements, and the communication, dissemination and exploitation of results.

  6. 6

    Experimental work packages

We run the trials in our own research centre and analyse the data, so the project's results rest on solid experimental evidence.

A consortium partner that also runs the trials

Most agri-food R&D projects need experimental evidence. IMASDE can lead the experimental work packages of your consortium.

We are regular beneficiaries of R&D funding and run our own projects and those of our clients in our research centre, such as CAMPYBRO, an EU FP7 project on Campylobacter control in broilers. See our own R&D projects.

  • Trial design: protocols, sample size and statistical analysis plan for each work package.
  • Animal phase: swine and poultry units with biosafety level 2, under Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
  • Data and statistics: data management, biostatistics and scientific reporting.
  • Dissemination: technical articles, congresses and material for end users.
